Dollar Insult collects minimal data to provide the AI roast service. This includes purchase records, insult text and feedback ratings, and an anonymous device identifier. We do not require account creation.
The app uses your camera to analyze your appearance and surroundings for roast generation. When you fire a shot, a single photo is transmitted securely to our AI provider (OpenRouter) to generate your roast. The photo is processed transiently and is not stored on our servers — only the generated insult text and your feedback are stored. No photo is captured or sent until you tap the shot button. No facial recognition or biometric identification is performed. The app does not use your microphone.
Data is used to generate personalized insults, improve content quality via feedback ratings, and process payments. We do not sell your information to third parties.
We use OpenRouter to route roast generation to an AI vision model (OpenRouter receives the photo you capture, for transient processing), ElevenLabs for voice synthesis, RevenueCat for purchase management, and Supabase for cloud storage. Payment processing is handled by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We do not control third-party model providers' independent retention policies; see OpenRouter's privacy policy for details.
Data is stored on Supabase (AWS infrastructure), encrypted in transit and at rest. Anonymous authentication means no email, password, or personal identity is required.
You may request deletion of all data at any time. Uninstalling the app stops all data collection. See our Delete Account page.
Dollar Insult is rated 17+ and is not intended for children under 17.
